GUAYUSA
Guayusa is a tree species native to the Ecuadorian Amazonian rainforest. For more than 2000 years the Kichwa tribes have been drinking guayusa tea before the hunt in order to get energised and focused. Its flavour is rich, with a delicious aroma and a touch of sweetness.
The benefits that guayusa provides:
- Balanced Energy
Guayusa contains the same amount of caffeine as coffee. But the big difference of guayusa compared with tea, coffee and yerba mate is that it provides a more balanced composition of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and caffeine, that make for a slow energy release. As a result, the adverse effects that are generally caused by these type of caffeine-rich drinks do not occur after drinking guayusa.
- Reduces Fatigue and Stress
Guayusa contains L-Theanine, which has been shown to reduce physical and mental fatigue as well as combat stress.
- Contains twice the amount of antioxidants
The uptake of the essential amino acids that guayusa offers is twice that of commercial green tea.
- Relaxes Blood Vessels
Theobromine, which is normally found in chocolate, helps to relax the blood vessels.
How to drink?
Guayusa has an deep and rich flavour as long you know how to make it :
Be patientand let your guayusa simmer for at least 5 minutes before drinking, or don’t even bother to get the leaves out at all.
Tip: Let the tea cool down in the fridge for a refreshing iced tea.
